Liz Nielsen is a Brooklyn-based experimental photographer. She has exhibited her work extensively throughout the world, including recent solo exhibitions in New York, London, Budapest, and Paris. Her photograms have been featured at international art fairs, such as Paris Photo, Photo London and Unseen Amsterdam. Nielsen has been reviewed in the New Yorker, the London Financial Times, LensCulture, Vogue UK, and FOAM magazine, among others.
The Landscape Shapes are analog photograms made without a camera, in a traditional color darkroom using handmade negatives. Each shape is a separate light exposure. The images represent the connection of thoughts, a shared line of thinking. From two different worlds, the mountain landscapes meet together.

The images represent abstract glaciers that float together and signify intuition or feeling within communication. Part of the connection is above the surface, logical, and empirical, and the other half is the known unknown.
